Why a Vehicle Protection Plan?
While a manufacturer’s warranty can protect you against certain breakdowns, true peace of mind comes from knowing you’re covered beyond the warranty period. Zurich’s protection plans are designed to protect you from paying for costly repairs, alleviate stress, and keep you and your vehicle on the road.

Enjoy a more worry-free ownership experience
If you want to protect yourself against the high cost of vehicle repairs, a Vehicle Service Contract (VSC) can be a great option. A vehicle service contract is an all-risk mechanical breakdown plan that pays to repair or replace nearly every component in your vehicle. It’s peace of mind for you—and your budget.
Side-by-Side Comparison

This comparison shows different coverage levels across the Powertrain, Standard, and Comprehensive Plans.

chart showing costs of repairs
†† The repair parts prices set out above are average part prices for fifteen common passenger vehicles on the road today. The labor charges are an average of associated repair rates and times for the repairs on the same fifteen vehicle models obtained from nationally and recognized labor and repair time manuals, plus a 10% inflationary adjustment.
Manufacturer Warranty vs. Vehicle Service Contract
A vehicle service contract extends coverage beyond the manufacturer’s warranty period and often pays for repairs not covered by your manufacturer’s warranty, as well as covers the cost of alternate transportation while yours is being repaired.

manufacture warranty vs vsc chart
Features and benefits of the Vehicle Service Contract (VSC):
  • A VSC provides coverage for the cost of parts and labor associated with eligible repairs based on your plan selection
  • Repair your vehicle virtually anywhere – you can have repairs made at your selling dealership or through any ASE-certified repair shop across the U.S.
  • Transferrable to the next vehicle owner, offering potentially higher resale value
  • A small deductible may apply per covered repair

Guaranteed Auto Protection (GAP)

Guaranteed Auto Protection (GAP)

Two vehicles colliding.
Bridge the GAP
Nothing can be quite as exciting as driving your new vehicle off the dealership lot for the first time. Unfortunately, a new vehicle’s value typically depreciates at a fast rate. If you are making loan payments and your vehicle is stolen and not recovered, totaled in an accident, or damaged beyond repair due to a natural disaster, your auto insurance alone may not be enough to cover the outstanding balance. Insurance typically covers the vehicle’s actual cash value rather than the total amount remaining on your loan. This could leave a financial “gap” of thousands of dollars, a gap you would be responsible for paying.

Guaranteed Auto Protection (GAP) offers financial protection and peace of mind, waiving or canceling the remaining balance of your vehicle loan after the payment from your insurance company.* Your insurance deductible of up to $1,000 may also be covered.
Benefits
  • Covers negative equity
  • Helps maintain your good credit
  • Insurance deductible of up to $1,000 may be covered
  • Cost can be added to your vehicle’s monthly payment
* The amount cancelled could be limited if the amount of the loan or lease exceeds a certain percentage of the actual value of the covered vehicle. The amounts cancelled vary, and there may be amounts for which you remain liable. Please consult your GAP agreement for full details of the terms and conditions of this coverage.

Avoid lease-end charges that could break your budget
When leasing a vehicle, you can be held accountable for its condition at the end of your lease. This includes the vehicle’s interior and exterior. Lease Wear & Use coverage can help alleviate some of the uncertainty that comes with your lease return. You can enjoy a more carefree driving experience with less worry about unexpected expenses.
Benefits

Any amount not covered by this plan would be your responsibility.
